02B58EA5E8F70953D37B33541E77 With 15 and a 6-card suit, south should make a slam try. image

After the transfer a new suit is splinter (en passant need a better explanation)

I added a 1NT transfer with similar hands, but it won't work in this case. Even knowing that N has two aces, you don't know what to choose.

          JT9
          AK9
          QJT9
          KQJ

432 T8765

Due to a bad suit, no shortage the hand is just a balanced 15 opposite 15-17, so if I feel lucky I will make a quantitative 4N, feeling unlucky 3N.

The "right" way is to transfer to 3C and bidding 3N, that is a mild slam try without shortage.

South should never drive to slam on a hand like this.
