Yes, it is tempting to double on the East hand, but knowing an 8(9)-card fit in clubs, it might be better to bid 3C

After the double East has a problem, but Pass is not an option. 2N is probably the best bid

In the next BBA I will raise the handicap limit to 13, which does not solve the problem, but perhaps in the opinion of experts it is more appropriate.
