How do I use the plugin? #18

I have added the plugin to my windows pidgin installation, and I can see it is activated. It has added a 'Protocol Icon' option to the Advanced tab of the account, in the form of a free type textbox. The question is, what do I put there? I have tried putting the full path to the file (a 16x16 png file), I have tried putting just the file name... assuming that it would look under the global pidgin icons folder, but with no luck. What icon formats does your plugin support? I think it would be nice to add this information on the git homepage for the project. Thanks!

Ah, that only partially migrated over from google-code. The wiki on the old site ended up as a separate branch on github. https://github.com/EionRobb/pidgin-icon-override/blob/wiki/ProjectHome.md

I'll keep this issue open until this is added back to the Readme.md of the new project

How to use

After installing and enabling the plugin, go into your account preferences into the advanced tab. Down the bottom should be a new option 'Protocol Icon'. Fill that in with the name of an image file in your pixmaps/pidgin/protocols/16 directory, excluding the '.png'. eg if you want to set the Yahoo icon, type in 'yahoo'
