When I start pidgin and steam signs in, the program hangs and I can't do anything with it except issue SIGKILL.
I suspected that this was because steam was trying to download offline history, so I rushed to disable the option when starting pidgin and the program works perfectly. I suspect that the history is quite long, as I haven't used pidgin for a while.
This has been a problem before, but it always seemed to resolve itself eventually. Now however, I can't use pidgin with the offline history option turned on. This is annoying because I particularly like the offline history for logging chats and stuff like that.
Pidgin doesn't appear to be doing anything (htop shows a very very low CPU usage, and nethogs shows no network activity), so I don't really know what exactly is going wrong.
