I don't know if it is possible, but it would really useful if the plugin allow new mail notifications to pidgin, given that gtalk/xmpp plugin doesn't allow anymore.

I've just been looking at how the Checker Plus extension works, and it looks like it might be possible to include email notifications through the same system as what we use to get Hangouts events. Will need some testing and trial, but its looking more like a "maybe" rather than an outright "no"!

It's a "yes" \o/

Give that a whirl :)

I'd say the mail notifications are working TOO well... It also notifies you when you receive spam messages. Any way to add some filtering to it, to only trigger for the main inbox messages, or maybe allow for filter customization?

@r4m0n Oops, I've had this fixed locally for a while but apparently forgot to push to bitbucket

Running the new version for half a day and it looks good so far, I'd say this ticket has been 100% fulfilled :-)
