"Internal server error" popup for many event #143

On many occasions, I get a popup saying "Internal server error". This includes:

Once for every joined channel when pidgin is started
Once for every incoming message in a room
I haven't tested private messages yet

In the logs, I cannot find any mention of this issue.

Other than that, it seems to work fine. However, those constant popups are very annoying, which is an issue.

Versions:

Mattermost Version 5.34.2, through the Gitlab token
I built purple-mattermost from master
Pidgin 2.14.1.
