Alt Login error: Bad username or password (Profile accrual is required) #643

After the #639 issue, I can no longer use the alt login method. It always fails with the following: "Login error: Bad username or password (Profile accrual is required)".

Some notes:

It was working for years without a problem until May.
Logging in into skype desktop, skype web or Microsoft account with the same username/password combination does not solve the problem,
No helpful information in the debug window other than the error.
The non-alt login works.

Hi, having exactly the same issue now. It started 2 or 3 days ago, I sometime managed to reconnect after 10 minutes or so, but now it always fail. Disabling alt-login doesn't let me connect either, failed getting magic T value.

I've been having the same problem. Spoke with EionRobb on IRC a couple weeks ago to try to track the problem down, but we couldn't get useful log info out of the thing. One assumes it's a solvable problem though

I too am being bitten by this one, but only on one of two different Fedora 30 machines both with the exact same package version: purple-skypeweb-1.5-5.20190520git5d29285.fc30.x86_64.

It's just super odd that the same account with the same version of this plugin on two different computers act differently.

Hi, yep, definitely weird. I've gotten it working for about a day, upgrading to latest commit on github from purple-skypeweb and restarting bitlbee. Don't ask me why, I don't have a clue. And then as suddenly as it worked, it stopped working again. Only way I've finally gotten it to work is to log in in my live account and verified the recent activities. Since about a week I have the same problem and couldn't login since then. I also checked the log, but could not find anything pointing towards this issue.

I tried to login with pidgin but fail for a long time, it showed me "Login error: Bad username or password (Profile accrual is required)". But i can login with browser(web.skype.com), can i ask how to solve this problem?
