Add .gitignore file inside your project folder that contain this exclusion list:

.pio
.vscode/.browse.c_cpp.db*
.vscode/c_cpp_properties.json
.vscode/launch.json
.vscode/ipch
**/secret.h
**/cfg.json
platformio.ini
*.log
**/*.log
extensions.json

This will prevent prying eyes to steal your credentials.
