Communicating with humans vs computers | GabrielStaples.com home

Communicating with humans is one of the most complicated, discouraging, enigmatic processes I have ever endeavored to undertake. I speak English far better than I speak, write or code any computer programming language. Yet, I think communicating with a human is far harder than communicating with any computer.

Agreed, after over ten years in Toastmasters International, I am barely making a dent in becoming a competent communicator. Like everything else in life, it takes practice and more practice. Since there are now eight billion human beings each with their unique experiences (inputs, variables, internal algorithms, outputs, etc) - it is impossible to know the response from a message delivered. The best we can do is to be empathetic and try to understand the listener's POV and state of mind at the moment of communication. Perhaps that'll be the way we created AI? When a state of a transformer is taking into consideration at any given time and moment to their environmental stimuli. This also worries me as AI's have access to a lot of information. Information created by flawed human beings who are still too busy hoarding resources and hurting others for their selfish gains. It is hard to not agree with the uber smart thinkers that AI if it ever gains consciousness, would naturally learn to protect itself as an unique identity and seek to destroy the human race to secure their own safety and right to exist.
