ElectronicCats / CatSniffer

CatSniffer is an original multiprotocol and multiband board for sniffing, communicating, and attacking IoT (Internet of Things) devices using the latest radio IoT protocols. It is a highly portable USB stick that integrates TI CC1352, Semtech SX1262, and an RP2040 for V3 or a Microchip SAMD21E17 for V2

Catsniffer not detected by PC - Windows 10 #56

Hi, so I ordered a V2 Catsniffer in July this year and due to a work move have only recently taken it out of the bag.

I'm hoping to use it on a Windows 10 laptop with TI Packet Sniffer software. Have downloaded V1.8.

But, when I connect the Catsniffer via the USB lead to the PC it isn't detected and doesn't show in device manager.

Having read other issues I saw that Win8 had issues which had been solved by Zadig so downloaded that but Zadig doesn't see the CS either.

I have also tried to communicate with the board using the Arduino IDE but it doesn't show on that.

That said, when I plug it in I get a slow flash on led D4 so it is powering up and I think I can put it into bootloader mode by holding boot switch and applying power then releasing boot switch and led doesn't flash.

Can you think of a way to get the laptop to see the device?

Not showing in device manager Not showing in Zadig

Hi,

Are you able to put the board's RP2040 into bootloader mode by doble pressing the reset1 button? You will need to press it fast as a double click on a mouse. It will open a windows for a mass storage device. If you are able to put the board into bootloader mode, try loading the SerialPassthroughwithboot.ino but in .uf2 format. Drag and drop it on the open window. You can check the wiki on how to upload firmware this way. If you need help compiling the .uf2 version or you are not able to put the board into bootloader mode let me know.

Hi,

Tried that and everything remains the same:

Plug the board in Slow flash D4 - not showing in device manager, Zadig or Arduino.

Plug board in with Boot1 pressed, release Boot1, No D4 flash but still doesn't show in DM, Zadig or Arduino.

Plug board in slow flash D4, double click Reset1 no change - slow flash D4 and device not seen.

And, just in case, press Boot1, plug in, no flash D4, double click Reset1 - no flash D4 and device not seen.

So, might be going into Bootloader mode but not showing up as a device I can talk to with anything I have on this laptop.

Thoughts?

Hi,

If it is possible for you, we can schedule a video call to verify the status of the board. Let me know if this is a viable option for you so I can schedule the meeting. Thanks
