This should complement the noise/variance measurements in imcpipeline.operations.measure_channel_background.

Some of this has been developed in 44a7437b905747c04727235bab5d324cbdfe4574. Make sure to incorporate into imc.operations.measure_channel_background and probably plug that into higher-level function of Project.
