Another thing that I have noticed that is very strange:
I have 3 of these Wyzecam V2's, all running the latest Dafang Hacks.
They are in different areas, and are each connected to a different access point.
Somehow, once in a while (every hour or two) they will all go unavailable in Blue Iris at the exact same time, for the same duration (20-30 seconds), then come back. I know it's not a network issue because I have 2 Amcrest wifi cameras and a Nelly's DB2 doorbell and they can go a month without ever having a connection drop in Blue Iris.
I also wanted to add that I'm not necessarily expecting an answer or support here, just wanted to report what is going on to those who are still supporting this project. Hopefully you will find it useful.
I completely understand the limitations of these Wyze cams, and that they're simply never going to be working reliably enough for this application. I've been messing with these for over a year and trying to optimize them, but they've been relegated to the "unimportant" stuff as I've been slowly replacing them with better cameras.

For anyone who finds this that is having the same issue:
I read elsewhere that turning off "Decoder compatibility mode" within Blue Iris fixes the glitching issue.
It totally worked! The artifacts from my screenshots have stopped and I haven't seen a single glitch in 2 days. (It usually generates a clip/alert when it happens if the glitch is in one of the motion zones)
However, I still have the problem where they drop off the network quite often. I now have 3 amcrest wifi cameras and 4 wyze cameras. Blue Iris keeps track of "No Signal" events... in the last 24 hours, all of the amcrests have zero no signal events, while the wyze cameras each have anywhere from 60-400.

Pretty sure this is because of the quality of the camera and limited processing capabilities. It just cant handle what we are asking of it, and the symptoms are why/how its possible to fit the price point. Just wish there was a way to prove it.
It's like the wifi chip cant handle some type of broadcast or something, and loses its mind for the 20 seconds or so it takes to gather itself back again. I can see this clearly when viewing the RTSP feed in VLC. I found it got a little better if I use FixedQP instead of the VBR I was using prior
Hallo everyone,
I only observe the "green image" issue when the transfer rate of the WLAN connection between the camera and the access point is poor. I have a Dafang3 running at about 50/60 MBit down/upload speed and I don't see any green images or breaks. With the same setup in another place with a different access point with only 23/4 MBit I get green images and stream breaks after 2-5 seconds. So, check your WLAN connection or reduce the quality of the rtsp stream.
With this settings I get a running rtsp stream:
Ok, that is not good for real surveillance but from there you can work your way up. Increase the image size and/or the bitrate step by step and see what you can get in your WLAN environment. I did not change the audio settings but reducing that may help too. And yes, the camera hardware can only do so much, so don't expect 4k@60 fps :-)

The RTSP stream when viewed through Blue Iris has glitches that fill half the screen with multiple colored blocks (sometimes full green) at least once per minute. Additionally, the bottom 80 pixels or so of the feed is a blurred mess at all times.
I can pull up the Dafang WebUI preview and the RTSP stream side by side and it only happens on the RTSP side.
It happens even if the RTSP server has been restarted seconds ago. No amount of tweaking video settings on Dafang seems to remedy the situation (unless I switch to FixedQP, which is just too low quality to be usable for anything)
What did you do to debug the issue
Tweaking video settings, restarting RTSP, ensuring no unnecessary services are running. All motion detection is turned off. Auto Night detection turned off.
I also tried to swap
v4l2rtspserver-master
withv4l2rtspserver-master-bak
