Wyze Cam v3 Support Uncertain #1802

Installation page has a very specific note for installing the firmware on the v3 cam.

It doesn't work to simply rename and apply the firmware and there are no further instructions explaining what other requirements there are.

Can we get an explanation for the v3 note?

I was also trying to get this to work today and had no luck. I was able to flash the Wyze Cam RTSP firmware so using that for now but I'd much rather use dafang over it.

I am having the same issue. V3 does not work with V2 of Dafang. RTSP Demo firmware works but it's VERY slow getting the video into Motioneye. I'm seeing delays of 10 seconds or more. I'd like to try Dafang and see if that's better.

Notes in other issues specify that a committer @jmtatsch would welcome donations of a cam for testing, though I don't know if they ever got one.

Anyone know if WyzeCam V3 ever work by renaming the demo.bin to demo_wcv3.bin? I own first released WyzeCamV3 that was never used. is this camera supported with Dafang-Hack? So far I am also unable to make it work. Older V2 are fine.
