Xiaofang 1S No RTSP H264 Server #503

I just received the Xiaofang 1S. I flashed the CFW from https://github.com/EliasKotlyar/Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks/tree/master/hacks/cfw/xiaofang and then create the SD card as per instructions.

I also modified run.sh with the insmod from https://github.com/EliasKotlyar/Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks/issues/292#issuecomment-388532247 which is now not causing the reboots I mentioned in https://github.com/EliasKotlyar/Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks/issues/411#issuecomment-398843070 but the RTSP H264 Server service does not want to start.

If it's of any help, I have observed that after a restart (or start-up) when connected to the RTSP stream (via VLC in this case) after around 1:30 minutes the "rtsp-h264" services crashes and have to restart the whole camera to repeat the same issue:

Possible good news for Xiaofang 1s users that haven't been able to get rtsp working. Some Xiaofang 1s users don't have problems but for others like me, this is what i did.

Replace the ##Start Sensor section in run.sh with what i have below. @EliasKotlyar - The modules loaded are the same as the Dafang Classic/Wyzecam V2. Looks like there might be two versions of the Xiaofang 1s? One that uses sensor_jxf22 and one that uses sensor_jxf23? Thanks for the great work on this project.

@asecor - Here's the problem that i run into with my Xiaofang 1S. Run.sh looks for /driver/sensor_jxf23.ko. If that file exists, it's detected as Xiaofang 1S and sensor_jxf23.ko is inserted.

When i do a ls of the /driver directory, i see both sensor_jxf23.ko and sensor_jxf22.ko listed. Because both modules are listed in the /driver directory, sensor_jxf23.ko is inserted.

Problem is, my Xiaofang 1S doesn't have jfx23 as the sensor. It has jxf22. By looking at dmesg, i can confirm jxf22 is detected on my Xiaofang 1S and it works when i modify run.sh to load sensor_jxf22.ko.

In short, my Xiaofang 1S works just like a Dafang Classic/Wyzecam V2 as far as this sensor is concerned. This leads me to believe there are possibly 2 versions of the Xiaofang 1S using 2 different sensors. I also tried some of the fixes you did. I kept getting errors and Found Sensor with ID:-1. To get mine working all i did was download a fresh copy of firmware_mod and make the changes i mentioned to run.sh. Your issue may be different. On a fresh install, if you ssh in and run dmesg can you see anything about jxf22?

I also faced the same issue.

My Xiaofang 1S has a jxf22 camera, but it has both sensor_jxf23.ko AND sensor_jxf22.ko in /driver, so it selects the wrong one in run.sh. I had to edit run.sh to force it to the 22 variant.

Thanks for verifying the sensor. I guess there are two versions of the S1. You shouldn't need the modification i had to use. I'm not sure why you're getting the sensor error. At least you do get video. When i got the sensor error i couldn't get anything. Not even for a second.

I would definitely update to a newer version of the firmware_mod files. Just by looking at your logs i can tell we're both using different versions due to the line numbers.

Since you can get video but can't keep it running, i suggest going to Service, disable autorun for everything but rtsp-h264. Then go to Settings, set video to 640x360, bitrate 1000, framerate 10, SMART. Then go to audio and set audio format OFF. Reboot your camera. Go to camera controls and make sure the only things are ir-cut, blue led, and rtsp-h264. Now see if you can keep the video stream running. If it works, you can up the video to 960x540. If it still stays up then try adding in audio. Try PCM first. Reason for this is that the Xiaofang 1S doesn't have a lot of memory. If you're using too large a resolution or adding in audio, resource usage goes up. Sometimes it's too much for the 1S to handle. So start low and work you're way up.

Thank you very much for the tips. I have implemented them (as well as the more recent suggestions in https://github.com/EliasKotlyar/Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks/issues/563) but unfortunately it still reboots after 1-2 minutes.

I would also guess that this is memory related so reduce image size. Verify via vlc that the image size really is reduced, there has been a bug where the changes weren't correctly applied. Also format you sdcard and start with a fresh repo checkout.

I looked through your logs and compared to mine. Even though it detects and loads jxf23 like it should, and you can get video for a while, for some reason it can't detect the sensor name "info: failed sensor find". Same thing in v4l2rtspserver-master.log where it can't find the sensor name "ImpEncoder.cpp:1198 0| Found Sensor with ID:-1". If you have the very latest version (within the last 7 hours of this post) of Dafang Hacks, it will try and log the sensor name under /system/sdcard/log/startup.log. I'm guessing it still won't display jxf23 but you can try the new version and have a look. This is beyond my skill level but i believe it's the /system/sdcard/driver/sinfo.ko module that does this detection. Maybe @jmtatsch or @EliasKotlyar could give some more insight. I don't know for sure but i suspect this might be why v4l2rtspserver-master crashes.

Edit: In one of your logs, v4l2rtspserver-master ran for around 95 minutes. There were a lot of timeout errors. Are you connecting with vlc or another type of media player using the rtsp:// url? What happens if you just monitor from the default website interface with no external connections? Do you still get those timeout error? And how long will it stay up running this way?

Hi, I just figure out the issue of "sensor not found" on my Xiaofang 1s. The root cause is wrong sinfo.ko You must use /driver/sinfo.ko which is from cwf-1.0.bin. So, you need to flash it first. Then you can change in run.sh from insmod /system/sdcard/driver/sinfo.ko To insmod /driver/sinfo.ko

Reboot the cam. it should solve sensor not found issue.

It solved the "sensor not found" for me too. But I'm still getting "RTCPInstance::RTCPInstance error: totSessionBW parameter should not be zero!" on connecting to rtsp.

This is normal. There's an outstanding issue https://github.com/EliasKotlyar/Xiaomi-Dafang-Hacks/issues/28 It's been there since the start of the project - it's just a warning.

@nobleking @d-litvinov You should be able to view via RTSP despite this message. Is RTSP working for you?

I've just checked and it works! I was misled by VLC (osx version), it didn't show the stream. But with other players it works fine! Thanks for the help!
