docs: improve markdown formatting of template, and fix typos #67

Hello,

I am very ignorant when it comes to JavaScript, so I thought I would contribute to the one file I know how to handle 😁

I took the liberty of formatting the template file to match most of the rules from markdownlint, at least to an extent that made sense. And I fixed a couple of typos while at it.

Feel free to merge if you fancy the new look.
