Gnome 46: Connection-/Power pannel visual issue #262

Closed MLengl closed 5 months ago

MLengl commented 6 months ago

Issue 1: Connect-Power-Panel overlaps screen:

Description

I am having my dash panel on top of the screen and when I click at the connection-/power menu it opens but will overlap the current screen. The menu is a small part at the right upper corner BUT a black intransparent filled box overlaps the rest of the screen.

1 expectation:

Only the usual menu is shown without overlapping the rest of the screen.

Issue 2: Connection indicators are not shown

description:

Opening the connection/power menu does not show indicators which element is active or not. It shows only more settings or not. But for example wifi/bluetooth can not be identified active or inactive.

Expectations:

Colored highlight for active wifi/bluetooth/ ..

Screenshow (shows both)

Hi, I'd like to know what version of the theme are you using? Are you using the latest version?

MLengl commented 6 months ago

@EliverLara ofcause that information is needed. I was using the latest one available on that date of the comment. So it was the latest one.

MLengl commented 6 months ago

@EliverLara After latest update and restarts it is now looking like this using Sweet-Dark instead. Still blocking full screen BUT indicators are shown but inconsistent round or square + with default color instead this fluent purple one as in the right upper corner.

image

Also registered that the power-off/logout popup shows grey background in showing the message. Surrounded by bluish background and new icons but the center looks gnome-default on the content/text area.

image

Sorry for bringing up more things in 1 ticket but I want to get summe dup feedback. Also on latest the window decoration is inconsistent. Slack/IntelliJ/... shows mac-stlyed icons whily file explorer/Settings/.. (Gnome-Apps) uses default ones.

Please try downloading directly from gnome-look you shoud use the files tagged with -v40 and to fully apply the theme on your gnome version please try using this script

MLengl commented 6 months ago

@EliverLara thank you very much - that v40 one (+script) helped.

Now just 3 little things are not perfect but fine so far - also see screenshots.

Thank you very much for fast feedback and that nice look.

Are you using any gnome-shell extension? and it would be very helpful if you could provide more details about you OS, please

MLengl commented 5 months ago

System information

X-Server has a active session. Just screenfetch somehow can't resolve it. image

enabled gnome-extensions

And finally: Before using a user-theme i was using the original untouched gnome one.

Anything else needed?

EliverLara commented 5 months ago

Could you try again with the latest published version on gnome-look, please

MLengl commented 5 months ago

Tested with latest files and again with install-script:

Same as before - logout and submenu are the same as shown on the latest passed screenshots.

Update @EliverLara :

I have used the version from your theme from 7days ago from today off. Since today it looks fully as expected like you can see. The exit/logout dialog is also now correct. Just the audio sliders are still orange instead of puple flow.

image

Might be gnome and GTK update related that arrived this weekend for Arch. Since Theme not changed and it is now really updated.

So just the orange sliders pending but fine as it is. Thanks for your efford/support

EliverLara commented 5 months ago

Thanks for updating the info! the orange sliders are supposed to be that color, I'll close this as completed :)
