(4.4) Backport UI changes for new features to winforms UI #196

There are several new features added that were set up on the new UI but not on winforms. The plan for launch is to have both winforms and the new UI and drop winforms at a later date, so the new features need to be backported.

I am increasingly of the opinion that the new UI should be the only UI. I'll poll people's reactions, but maintaining two UIs, even for an initial release, is a lot.
