As mentioned in #223 this is a fake copycat; however it works well, was updated only 3 months ago as of the time of writing, and does not seem malicious to me (anyone who knows more about extensions please feel free to correct me with evidence).
Since this repository is completely unmaintained and Chrome has completely removed any option to block autoplay even on mobile (though to be fair this extension is not usable on mobile - once again, thank google. Maybe not such a great idea to let an advertising company run the single most popular browser huh), I highly recommend looking into that one if you have come to this repo from the original extension's page or just was hoping to see updates on this.
I know from personal experience sometimes autoplay makes the web downright unbearable and I personally only allow it on YouTube and YouTube music.
