This sounds like some conflict between Disable HTML5 Autoplay and the webpage: the extension is trying to pause the video, but the page tries to make it play.
0.7 will introduce a new algorithm as described in #16. When it is finished, I will revisit this issue.
+1 on this! It took me longer than I'd like to admit before figuring out it was this extension!
+1... makes this extension not that useful for me :(
The workaround is to disable the extension for that website, which the extension options allow you to do (create a rule). Users discovering that is the difficult part. It took me a long time as well.
This extension causes Hangouts to not receive audio (for me). Disabling fixes it. The whitelist sorta works, but still seems choppy.
The same with HipChat.
With Disable HTML5 Autoplay running, incoming WebRTC video in both Google Hangouts and Blue Jeans meetings becomes extremely choppy, as does the "self view" window. All frames are dropped for several seconds, followed by a handful of frames making it through, followed by more frames being dropped.
To reproduce, just install the extension and attempt to have a Google Hangouts meeting. Observe what happens with the incoming video and the self-view video. Then disable the extension and observe that it all returns to normal.
