Bag Sort isse #63

Bag sort function hangs up and does not sort. It does this randomly, but once it does it, it will not sort again until you logout and log back in. Reloading the UI does not fix this. Also, when it is in this state, there will be an object that can not be moved or otherwise accessed.

Ok so, i've heard of this problem before but i never managed to reproduce it. I need to know exactly what addons you are using and under what circumstances this happend. Every detail, even if it seems unimportant to you, for example where you in combat?

Hi,

This is on a bank alt so not too many. In general, you can sort once maybe twice, then it hangs up. If I had to guess, it would be something to do with either Auctionator or Scrap. After work today, I will try turning them off one by one an see if that affects this. Thanks for getting back to me.

FWIW, There is an issue with Auctionator as well. When you you open the AH the first time, it generates a nil pointer error. Not sure if this is related since the sort thing will happen anywhere, not just the AH.

Just a quick update on this. I ran a bunch of configs last night and this morning. It is not Scrap, Auctioneer, or Auctionator doing this. I have uninstalled Scrap completely and still have the issue. I can turn the two auction addons off and still see this. I will test some more this afternoon.

Do you have this issue If you disable every other addon except elvui?

Hi Again,

OK, so after a lot of testing and changing various files, I have decided that this is likely an incompatibility with the version of Auctioneer that is on Wow Legacy. I got the version from the Auctioneer archive and haven't seen it since. However, I have not played a lot as work keeps getting in the.way. I will update you as I go.

One more thing. The issue seems to relate to either one fo the libraries that Auctioneer uses or its on library "Stubby". When you turn off Auctioneer, you don't necessarily turn either of these off.

After playing a lot, I've decided my previous hypothesis is incorrect. It is still doing this. It doesn't happen often, but it still will get stuck and not sort. Once it does that it will not sort until logout/login. Reloadui does not do it. Is there something I can look at or data I can capture when it is stuck? The only thing I have loaded is Elvui, Addonskins, and DBM.

I can confirm this issue, it temporary fix if you move some bag from a slot to another. Also tried with all the addons disabled. One or more objects appear like stuck once you try to sort and the sorting process does not complete. Then I close the bags, reopen them and I move the bag with the stuck object in a different slot. Then the object unstuck and the sort process succeed. I hope this information will be useful.

I have tried everything to try and isolate this. However, it still occurs with no addons installed as Mist points out. There is no real pattern although if it starts, it will be consistent until things are removed from the bags. The other thing I have noticed is that id does not matter if the bags are full or relatively empty. However, it does seem to happen more if there are empty spots in the middle of bags. I will try what Mist suggested as it is getting old logging in and out just to sort bags.

On a side note, Addonskins has an issue with DBM boss health frames which keeps them from working. The only solution there is to disable addon skins.

If there is any debug code that can be turned on, I would be glad to do that.

Long delay, but I am convinced that this is a bug within Elvui. I have turned off everything and still get this. It doesn't happen as often though, but it still happens. If you swap bag locations you can get it to start working again, so my guess is it is refreshing bag slot counts which is somehow getting corrupted.

Just to update. This still happens. Shuffling bags does fix it so I would guess something is getting tainted in the bag list.

Hi along with the issues reported here , I have found with only Elvui running and no other addons ( all addons Disabled expect Elvui ) , once I've looted either a mob or when gathering Herbs the loot does not show up in my bags inventory unless I either move something in my bags from one slot to another or try and use the Sorting feature . I am playing on a private server .
