Should any device that uses slcan protocol work?

USBtinViewer/USBtinLib uses some USBtin-specific commands, so it will work best with a USBtin. However, the main commands are identical for slcan devices and should therefore also work.

When I try with a generic SLCAN device I get an error "Timeout! USBTin doesn't answer. Right port?" Does make sense to be something specific with USBTin? Is there a simple fix?
