All features I considered needed minimally for the editor are implemented.
Features implemented:
Saving of maps after editing
Selecting of Density/Height/Heights map
Brushes to draw (currently 2 + eraser + filler)
the ability to edit more than one chunk
a ui for choosing all the options above
Easy setup through plugins and an feature which is off by default
an example to demonstrate all this

I did a fair bit of playing with the new systems and have found that it works good enough to be released as alpha.
This means I'd be glad to get some feedback from others
Also some features are still not implemented so if someone would want to give it a try just inform me
Features to be implemented next:
view the aabb box of the grass chunk and edit it in realtime
create completely new chunks in the editor
move the grass chunks (maybe using bevy_gizmo for that)
