Flying problem since last update #307

Been seeing scattered complaints. Asked Ale to quantify it and she said there's a delay when you double-tap to fly and landing is same/"laggy".

See I've heard this a lot, yet I can never duplicate it myself - and no one is able to give me a step by step in order to duplicate it.

The only thing relevant to flying that was changed last update was the speed (I think) which shouldn't alter toggling.

Can you see if you can get more information? Are you swapping lots/zones? Where are you flying? Are you flying with a mod? Are you using the high speed?

When you engage fly, fly turns off then on so you don't take off right away.

Still can't replicate this, does it happen EVERY time? If it doesn't do it every time then I'm tempted to say it's client-side or relevant to lag. If it does it every time, then I haven't a clue because i've not had a problem once.

It happens randomly. I sometimes fall out of the sky from it, or will have to try and take off several times before it goes through. All I can say is sit there and try and fly, I wouldn't imagine it would be different for different computers

To me this sounds more like a latency issue where your connection to the server sometimes got a little shit so the server doesn't acknowledge you as flying. etc

It doesn't matter where I am, even at college with basically unlimited bandwidth it still occurs. Could it be an issue of rank? If admins don't have an issue with it vs regular players?

I sometimes have a hard time getting off the ground. Been that way for me for ages though.

Its happened to me since Anarchy came, but its not as bad as when it first came out. I think its like when the server checks if your in anarchy?

Its possible that it's being disabled, and then enabled. Meaning you start to fly but it stops you and then checks if your allowed to fly, then enables. In which might cause this - will look into.

That sounds plausible, and makes sense. Especially if it checks what world you are in before allowing you to fly
