Creating the Website

Hi Jue, Conrad,

I've attempted to create an HTML of the page but it's pretty obvious that I have no idea what I'm doing: https://gist.github.com/Emily-Goldblum/99e5b1241dfeee7a0c8e

Could you please recommend some sort of template where I could at least drop in icons/use the excel data I sent over to @RadWells (I'll also send them over to you, @jueyang).

Issues I'm Finding:

• Don't know how to create a layout
• I don't know how to align icons or make them connected to the search
• I don't know how to insert my data into the search as right now it's going to Google
• While I know HTML colors I have no idea how to make sure the site is a simple black font on white background.
• I don't know how to insert my column for related terms.

While I've Google'd numerous ways to do all of these issues listed above - it isn't helping. The language is confusing and I can put many codes into a template but nothing happens.

We'll talk about some basics tomorrow in class. The codecademy tutorial is a good start.

You can also start to look at bootstrap templates -- the basic elements are already in place, and you can experiment with css there. To use a template, just download and change relevant files.
