Request for Custom Icon option

I understand that asking for this feature could slow down the vscode, but it would be great if we can make a custom icons for files & directories on the workspace scope. Don't you think so?

Hi,

I'd like to add such a feature, it has been asked already; unfortunately last time I checked, it requires to make the whole set way more complex in term of programming. Compare it to https://github.com/vscode-icons/vscode-icons, you'll see what I mean;

I intended to make a simple icon set, but adding these options requires to make a full functionning plugin.

I already considered it, but never took the time. I'll add it on the pile, but I really can't tell if or when it would be done.

Just to let you know I'm finally working on a total rework of the plugin. I still can't provide any ETA for this specific feature, but it's making progress tho.
