1 year ago I've had this in the back of my mind for a while. This is definitely something I'd like to do, but it's a big task that I'm not prepared to tackle. Help would be greatly appreciated.
16x is definitely the preferred resolution. And ideally I'd want not just consistency in resolution but also in style. Here's a short list of inconsistencies from off the top of my head:
- Grass/dirt/litter/surface textures from the various biome mods have dramatically different styles. Ethereal is fairly faithful to MTG, but the Wilhelmines biomes and Biomes biomes color outside the lines a bit more. I'd like to see more consistent textures and colors for ground cover that mesh well with MTG and that are still a thematic look for their respective biomes.
- A lot of the plants, grasses, and flowers from the Wilhelmines biome mods (Natural Biomes, Living Jungle, Marinara) are 32x. These are good candidates for scaling down to 16x.
There are likely others I missed, but these are what stand out the most imo. If you (or any other contributors) would like to take a stab at modifying these textures, I ask that you do the following:
- Place the new textures in appropriate subfolders in asuna_textures, an Asuna mod that exists specifically to override textures.
- Make sure that the new textures abide by any content licenses they come with and make note of any required attributions in the asuna_textures CREDITS.md file.
- Add a
LICENSEfile to the subfolder of any and all new textures; must be a free content license such as a Creative Commons license or public domain dedication (CC0). See the butterflies texture license for example.
Aside from all of that, let your creativity shine! Textures need a creative touch to not only blend in with other textures but also to express the character of each biome.

I wouldn't mind helping create new textures. If you are fine with Minecraft style 16x, I can try to unify the textures like Jappa did in 1.14. Either you can send me a list of every texture you want changed, or I'll just change them as I find them.
