Video timing problem Metroid

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Running metroid NTSC rom, won't load.( grey screen )
2.Change timing to PAL and reset:  now the game loads.
3.Change timing back to NTSC : fixed.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Grey screen is shows when running NTSC timing.

Does this issue occur on FCE Ultra for Windows?
Don't know

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
Wii latest 3.2.2

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?
both

Please provide any additional information below.
It's a pain inthe ass this way

eh? This works fine for me. Maybe there's something wrong with the ROM? Or 
maybe try deleting your settings.xml? No idea.

I could also be something with the way i load roms.
Problem only occurs loading from SMB. Loading from DVD is fine.
