UPDATE!
It seems like Frodo wont start without a SD-card.
I did like this:
- Start my wii with my hdd connected as usual (no sd-card inserted)
- Start Homebrew channel
- All my homebrew is there
- Now I insert a SD-card (preferibly empty)
- Then I start Frodo, now frodo will recognize the SD-card AND my HDD.
- When I now get into Frodo menu and choose insert game, it seems like Frodo
only shows files on my HDD when it's connected.
Result: Frodo wont start without a sdcard inserted, but the sd-card doesn't
have to contain any files at all. As soon as frodo is started it finds the hdd
and can start games from it.

Frodo was designed to work with SD card. At the startup it checks whether the
SD card is inserted.
It uses the SD card to save the game states (/frodo/saves/), to save temporary
files (/frodo/tmp/), to save the preferences (/frodo/frodorc), to save the
screen snapshots (/frodo/metadata/) and to load the graphic immages
/frodo/themes/). You should install the program and the directories with the
tarball (or from homebrew browser) in the SD card.
The usb port can be only used to load the games. In this latter case you have
to select the relevant option.
Games can be also loaded from SD card (/frodo/images).
I think the dol file and the /apps/frodo directory can be also on hdd, but the
other directories must be in the SD card.
