What are you using ? SD or USB ?
If both are used, settings are saved on SD by default.
Check that your SD card is not write protected.

I am using an SD card. I put the r503 back on and my settings are all there.
When I put the official release on, nothing is saved. I even deleted all the
ini files and nothings is saving at this time.

Can you check that using the new version (1.4.0), a config file is generated ?
If yes, please upload it here.

OK, I think I spotted a bug in the way the emulator detect the config file
version. This would indeed always reset settings to default.
My fault, I didn't noticed the bug during beta testing since default settings
are the one I always use, should be fixed very soon.

Fixed in r533
A new binary has been uploaded, I didn't change the version for that, hopefully
not too many people had downloaded it yet.

was this only fixed only compiling r533 or was it corrected in
genplus-gx-1.4.0.7z. I just tried the latest release and is not saving. I did
not compile r533

You need to download genplus-gx-1.4.0.7z again, it should have been updated

Can you report the last modification date of the file boot.dol you are using ?
It should have been modified on 02/11 (previous version was 01/11)
Just to make sure, before downloading it again, empty your browser cache, etc

ALso please upload the config.ini file output by the emulator (change some
options then exit back to HBC), if any.
