Wiimote/controller losing synchronisation #182

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launching genplus-x 1.6.0
2. Waiting around 30-45 seconds after launch, either in the main menu or in any
game
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Wiimote loses synchronisation, but the emulator is still running fine
though (which is easy to confirm, as most games launch an in-game demo loop
after some time // sound, framerate, everything is perfect)

What version of the emulator are you using (official, SVN revision,...)?
1.6.0 (latest official build).
The weird thing is that I never had that bug before. Also, I have no problems
with other homebrew apps.
Do I have a hardware issue?!

Please provide any additional information below (Video settings, Console
region,...)
Region 4.3E
IOS 61 v22.30
Homebrew Channel 1.0.8
Tried 2 different SD Cards (2GB and 4GB, brand: SanDisk)

I have obviously tried to erase all past installations of Genesis-Plus GX and
do a fresh new install. No difference: still the same bug.

I get the same thing too but i don't think its a bug as much as the programer
designed the emulator like that. your getting the remote to power down after 45
seconds or so right, i get that all the time with this emulator here unless its
doing this while your playing a game then yeah that would be an issue here.

ISSUE FIXED: the file keys.bin (at the root of the SD card) was actually
corrupted and its date reverted to 1980 (probably an issue due to my operating
system, not the emulator).

I deleted that file and started the emulator again: no issues anymore.

Corrupted SD files probably have no effect like this, I bet this happened
because you were loading the application from HBC with your network being
disconnected.

Read the FAQ for more details on how to avoid this issue.

Hi. I am suffering the same problem, Wiimote seems to loss synchronisation. I
just can launch the emulator and get the initial screen asking for pressing A
button, but no reply from Wiimote, which just shows the 4 leds blinking.
I have looked at the FAQ but I can not find the entry solving this issue.
Please, your assistance is very much appreciated, I do not have a network
connection, and I would like to enjoy again my old games!

What version of the emulator are you using ? How do you load it ? Are you using
hbc last version ? Does your wiimote works with other apps ?

There isn't much that can be done because nothing special is done to support wiimotes, all is done by built-in library (libogc) itself.

Hi, many thanks for your kind assistance! Please find below some data that I
hope it may help:
- HBC installed last week through Letterbomb.
- Wii version 4.3E.
- GenPlusGX v.1.5.0.
- Yes, Wiimotes do work in other apps run on HBC, like emulator Snes9xGx, Wii
Casino, etc.
I am not an expert and I do not have a technical background, but in case that
you need some additional data, please let me know, I will try to get it.
Thanks again for your support!!

1.5.0 is old and was compiled with libraries not compatible with newer
wiimotes.
Use the last version instead (1.7.0)

Hi, I have already installed and tried v1.7.0, and now it works fine with the
Wiimotes. Thanks for everything!
