Lunar the Silver Star Freeze [Regression] #340

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load Lunar the Silver star.
2. Wait for game logo to come up.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
It should then proceed to the intro animation, but instead freezes at a black
screen.

What version of the emulator are you using (official, SVN revision,...)?
Using the libretro core in Retroarch 0.9.9 compiled on 2013/05/19 (filename
genesis_plus_gx_libretro_x86_20130519.dll). In the previous core release Lunar
1 worked fine. I don't have a way to compile and test the official stand alone
Genesis Plus GX binary, but that core should be pulling the latest source up to
that date (so r778 looking at the source changes) so it could have been the
timing changes in r777 or r778 that broke Lunar.

Indeed, but it's not related to timings, that game (and probably others, i
should have made fullset regression tests) does not like the change related to
SEEK command emulation introduced in r777 to fix Final Fight CD... which means
my assumptions about this command were likely incorrect.

Thanks for the report.

running retroarch 0.9.9 with Genesis-Plus-GX core 1.7.3 on the xbox 360 problem
is still existing.....seeing as how poster says it works in an older version
perhaps i shall revert until fixed in the retroarch

Check the dates... It was fixed in 1.7.4 so you need to update the core in
Retroarch
