graphical artifacts in Zelda: OOT #494

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Describe your system:
 - Operating System (be specific): Mac OS X Lion, 10.7.3, Build 11D50
 - Machine type (32-bit or 64-bit): 64-bit
 - Mupen64Plus version: 1.99.5
 - Plugins used: Glide64

For visual artifacts, give:
 - game name and CRC/MD5 hash (printed on console): Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time (do not currently have console)
- description of the artifact (missing polygons, flashing, wrong colors,
etc): Vertical lines across screen when in static "transition areas" that are
not part of a town, building, or dungeon. For example, the outer courtyard of
the Temple of Time

Describe the problem:
Using 1.99.5 for OOT has at least in my experience been a step backward. Only
Glide64 works decently at all. In 1.99.4, Rice worked fairly well, though Glide
was still my plugin of choice. Now, I have graphical artifacts in Glide64 as
described, and Rice is almost unplayable.

Please provide any additional information below.

The issue you mention was introduced by this commit:
https://bitbucket.org/richard42/mupen64plus-rsp-hle/changeset/c7650a85e008
and has been fixed by this one :
https://bitbucket.org/richard42/mupen64plus-rsp-hle/changeset/27234e46cfe5
The problem is that a major release has been done in between...

If you're comfortable enough with compilers, just upgrade the rsp-plugin to the
latest revision from hg. Otherwise, downgrade to 1.99.4.

Sorry for the inconvenience
