menu controls don't work any more on wii-remote

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. go to uae menu with wii remote and nunchuck attached
2. play a game for a while
3. unplug nunchuck
4. go back to menu (without nunchuck attached)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected output:
menu navigation with wii remote behaves normal

instead:
every button of the wii remote moves the cursor UP, d-pad and confirm-button 
actually have no more effect.
it's needed to plug in the nunchuck again (while in the uae menu) to be able to 
navigate through the menu.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
uae gx version: v8 of dec-31
wii firmware: 4.3U

Please provide any additional information below.
in addition to this bug report, it would be handy to implement a "scroll by 
page" (d-pad left/right) function for browsing through folders that contain a 
big number of ADFs!

I had similar problems, re-plugged nunchuck, used nunchuck to navigate menus.
All fine this way.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think nunchuck is one way only. Once decided to use you 
can't unplug it.
