It is giving wrong fire missions. about 30-40 milrads off.

pastasauce87 commented 4 years ago

Been testing tonight. Doesn't seem to matter which map. rounds land too long.

Endebert commented 4 years ago

Could you double-check again please? I released a fix for wrong values last night, and the mil values seem to align with the ingame table again.

pastasauce87 commented 4 years ago

Unfortunately still landing long today.

Interesting note: This calc seems to have correct values.

From what I can tell, the current version, squad-calc.com, and the version before the velocity changes, are all pretty much giving the same values. You can check the "old" version if you like, which is from february: https://5e5434bb3e068b00089bea9f--squadmc.netlify.app/

However, because of this issue, I did check out jensens range yesterday, and it seems that using the original ingame table, the shots also overreach the target. And the velocity that the calculator is using, is based on that table.

Maybe it's time we create our own table based on observations on jensens range. We can reduce the mortar velocity a bit to get it in line with our observations, but first I'd like to have some hard data.

I have noticed that the grid on Fools road seems to be a bit off. Not sure if that's what causing problems.

Too image proves here. As you see the more south you got the more the grid is skewed. I have no idea if the image has changed, but it seems of.

Also the this is tested on: https://5e5434bb3e068b00089bea9f--squadmc.netlify.app/
