Your Issue Detail: When installing an Android app that uses the Firebase Installations Service, it fails to register the app in the cloud. This prevents Firebase Cloud Messaging from working which is the new Google Cloud Messaging since 2018. (See the deprecation notice)

Seconded. Many apps I use rely on firebase heavily

Should be whitelisted only on your own whitelist as this is a heavy google tracker and I wouldn't advise to unlist this on a global scale at all

It breaks a fundamental feature of many apps. By that logic, google.com would also need to be blocked as it is a "heavy google tracker". As per my understanding, the "basic" list alone should prevent as much tracking as possible without breaking any applications and only the extensions should break applications.
