Add `.editorconfig` file

EditorConfig is a simple configuration format that defines basic editor properties (e.g. tabs vs spaces, trimming trailing whitespace...). There is support available in most mainstream editors either natively or as a plugin, including vim, emacs, VS Code etc.

Perhaps main needs to be updated soon....?
