It was not so hot, today. I went to work just as usual. On the way to work, I checked my diary's comments on my phone. Shawn has left comments last night. So I am going to thank him next class. I read his comments. But my diary had a lot of wrong sentences. As soon as I came to my office, I corrected my diary based on Shawn's comments. This morning, I drew up a document and I sent an email to my lawyer. Because I have not been understanding this document. And then I talked on the phone with my lawyer. He said “ I will reply back to your email by next week." At lunch time, I scheduled to meet an acquaintance. So I walked to a restaurant and I met him. We had lunch quickly. We had coffee at A Twosome Place. He told me about his stories. He is planing to learn the shuffle dance. This time was very interesting. I failed to keep track of time. When I checked the clock, the lunch time was already over. So we said goodbye. I ran back to my office. It was 2 pm. This afternoon, I reviewed many documents because we have to submit a report to KRX until next Tuesday. But my junior staff and I have not finished our work so I am going to go to work this weekend.

In the middle of work, I got a text message from my friend. She said " Ruby ! If your time allows tonight, let`s grab some wine at my house" But I am going to go to Talk-Talk tomorrow so I lied. I answered that " Sorry ! I have an appointment tonight. So I would like to meet you next Thursday "

I have left work. Now, I am on my way home by subway.

Good!

  1. 'So I am going to say thank you to Shawn next class.' -> Good! But you can also say "I am going to thank him next class.'

  2. 'I have drawn document up and then I have sent an email to my lawyer.' -> This sentence is inappropriate for present perfect tense (현재완료시제). So I would say 'I drew up a document and I sent an email to my lawyer.' Also the verb phrase, 'draw up' is an inseparable verb phrase. Therefore, you can't put the object between the verb and the adverb.

(side note): would는 형식적으로 will의 과거형이지만 여러 용법을 가지고 있으며 그 중에 한가지 용법으로 정중함을 표시하며 "~할것이다"라고 표현할때 사용할수 있습니다.

  1. '“I am going to reply until next week”' -> '"I will reply back to your email by next week."' 'Will' is more natural in this sentence than 'be going to'. On top of that, there is a slight difference between the usage of 'until' and 'by'. You can refer back to this link for the detailed explanation.

  2. 'I scheduled to meet acquaintance.' -> 'I scheduled to meet an acquaintance.'

  3. 'He told me that his stories.' -> You have learned about that clause. That clause is a clause that is followed by that. Then what is a clause? Clause is a thing that has a subject and a verb. But your sentence doesn't have them. So it's a wrong usage of that clause. 'He told me about his stories.'

  4. 'But we have not known that lunch time over. So we said goodbye in haste.' -> 'I failed to keep track of time. When I checked the clock, the lunch time was already over. So we said goodbye.'

  5. 'my company have to submit report' -> 'we have to submit a report' If the subject is singular, then you have to use 'has to' not 'have to'.

  6. 'Let`s grab' -> 'let's grab'

  7. 'so I have to prepare my textbook so I told a lie.' -> 'so I lied.'

  8. 'appointment' -> 'an appointment'

  9. 'Thurthday' -> 'Thursday'

설명을 영어로 한번 써 봤어요. Ruby가 다 아시는 문장 형식들로 구성했지만 좀 어려울순 있어요. 하지만 잘 고민해서 보시면 다 아시는 것들입니다. 한가지 중요한건 that 절 사용할때 주어 동사가 있어야되요. 주어와 동사가 존재하는것을 우리가 절이라고 부르니깐요. that절이 두개정도 보이는데 주어와 동사가 없기때문에 틀린 문장들입니다.
