not sure why the Makefile is still missing

Hi, we added this Makefile from @svanellewee previously but it has gone missing somehow. In the git commit history I only see it being added, so the only way I can imagine it going missing is maybe with the merge that the ignore rules make git ignore it.. I'm trying to add it again now. thanks
