Rewrite it in Rust #589

Rust is a memory-safe and secure language and is more efficient than Java. Also, the industry trend is shifting towards Rust so we should rewrite this in Rust.

But why? Rust is so old? Why not use carbon?

ColinPitrat commented 2 years ago

Rust is not enterprise ready. This issue should be closed as offensively careless. Only the self-proclaimed cool kids of the 2nd .com bubbles like Kernel developers are using it. Real developers stick with Java (or Cobol).

In any case, it's important to keep this Java implementation for reference, so that enterprise Java developers can learn from it and use it in the software that your bank uses. Your bank uses FizzBuzzEnterpriseEdition, doesn't it? How would they otherwise have the possibility to show fizz or buzz or fizzbuzz on your bank statements, if they'd ever need to? You wouldn't want to force them to migrate to Rust too. That is inefficient.
