Practices: Create a log Analytics Workspace, Create an Automation account, Add server to Azure Arc

The resource group WinFAD is created in the last practice. It should be created earlier.

Lab: Managing hybrid servers using Azure Arc

Exercise 1

Does not work in AZ-801 tenant. Permissions to create Policies are not present. Permissions assigned similar to Exercise 4, Task 2. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/8713/what-is-the-min-iam-role-required-to-create-azure.

The role Resource Policy Contributor must be assigned to the student account. It can take 5 - 15 minutes for the role to become active.

Task 2

In step 5: Edit settings is not under VN1-SRV5, but under Adatum-Automation-Account.

Exercise 5:

Lab: Windows Deployment Services

Setup

The script in step 6 sometimes requires a restart. Otherwise, PXE does not work.

Exercise 2

Task 3

Lab: Microsoft Deployment Toolkit

Exercise 2

Exercise 2

Task 2

Rokory commented 9 months ago

In Lab Windows Admin Center, Exercise 3, the instances of Windows Admin Center users are correct. But the order of steps in the AD Users and Computers section should be changed for more clarity.

Rokory commented 9 months ago

I cannot see any problems with activating RBAC following the instructions. However, VN1-SRV5 should be restarted after ad\IT was added to the local Windows Admin Center administrators group. This will be added to the instructions.

Rokory commented 9 months ago

I cannot reproduce the problems with the Lab: Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
