I'm curious as to what you mean by "properly append", both for Timeline and for the single-clip sequencers. For Timeline, I think I'd expect the new clip to appear in first empty space in the target track. But for Melody and Drummer, I think I'd expect the MIDI file to simply replace the existing sequence. Is that what you had in mind, or something different?

Reopening because it's a sensible feature request.
Import and properly append midi snippets dragged from other applications.
Most DAW's (on windows, not sure of other platforms) are capable of importing MIDI by drag'n'drop.
Drum sequences from EZDrummer (Toontrack) Drum sequence from Virtual Drummer2 (UJAM) Chord(progressions) from Scaler 2 (Plugin Boutiqe) etc.
