[Suggestion/Improvement] "Unlit Torches" like torches

My idea is essentially to add some features to torches to make them both more interesting and more realistic. These ideas are from the "Unlit Torches" mod by pelep, which sadly seems to be dead, and there really is no other mod like it that is updated. I think that this would fit very well with the mod, so here is what I think it should add:

• Torches are crafted unlit, and must be lit with flint, etc. (configurable, both if they are crafted lit and what can light them). Lit torches can light torches by right clicking while holding them.
• When lit, Torches burn for a certain time (configurable) that is shown by their durability and then die out. They would die out a bit before they are completely dead, leaving an unlit torch with some durability.
• Burnt out torches could be combined in the crafting window to give a torch with the combined durability.
• Standing in the rain with torches or going underwater would extinguish them (including ones in your inventory).
• Most importantly, all operations (lighting, refueling, etc.) can be done both in-world and in the crafting window. Not super necessary, but really could alleviate "crafting overload" and make things quicker, especially lighting torches.

And now, some personal ideas of mine or ideas that would be nice but not essential:

• A new animal drop, "animal fat" (this item was from his other mod, lanterns).
• Fat could increase torch recipe yield(?)
• You could repair torches by adding charcoal, coal, or fat, by right clicking on them with the item in hand. Would be nice if it worked on burning torches as well, to keep them burning.
• In F3 view, you can see how much durability a torch has left.

Anyways, I think that would make torches more interesting. I'm not a modder, but I imagine that since you already have torches that burn out, it wouldn't be too hard to add these features (since the hard work is already done). I would personally love to see this, and you could consider adding lanterns as well, which last longer and (maybe) give light when your holding them.

Either way, it would be nice to see any of these features. If you do add them, I would really like to see them in 1.7.10 if possible, since that is where most most packs are at, not 1.8. I hope you consider it, and thanks for your time!

Ok, I didn't see yours. Either way, I guess yours is more of suggesting the feature, which it now has been added. Mine is more of suggesting an improvement of the feature - IIRC the torch durability cannot be combined, torches don't burn out, they just disappear, etc. - I'm suggesting improvements on an already implemented feature.
