Definitions missing for several waste management terms #1203

Open turbomam opened 3 years ago

turbomam commented 3 years ago

Thes terms appear to lack textual definitions

Mentioning @jagadishcs because some of his term requests in NMDC-05_EnvO_template_robot_sheet are based on these terms.

Here's the first link I found when Googling about the difference between wastewater and sewage. I have no sense if the reliability of this source

sewage plant does have the definition

A waste treatment plant which equipped to treat sewage such that its potential for environmental contamination is reduced.

turbomam commented 9 months ago

wastewater treatment plant has the following database_cross_references but no definitions

The following definition could be abstracted from the

A industrial building that removes and eliminates contaminants from wastewater and converts this into an effluent that can be returned to the water cycle.

possible comments

Wastewater treatment plants may be distinguished by the type of wastewater to be treated. There are numerous processes that can be used to treat wastewater depending on the type and extent of contamination. The treatment steps include physical, chemical and biological treatment processes.

waste treatment plant only as a label and an exact synonym, WWTP

maybe abstract a definition form https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waste_management:

An industrial building facility that performs the processes and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal

plus a comment:

Waste treatment plants may perform one or more of the following: collection, transport, treatment, and disposal of waste, together with monitoring and regulation of the waste management process and waste-related laws, technologies, and economic mechanisms.
