e.g nitrogen cycle

scope creep or useful?

This would provide a tie in to organism-level processes, e.g.

[Term]
id: GO:0071941
name: nitrogen cycle metabolic process
namespace: biological_process
def: "A nitrogen compound metabolic process that contributes to the nitrogen cycle. The nitrogen cycle is a series of metabolic pathways by which nitrogen is converted between various forms and redox states; it encompasses pathways in which nitrogen is acted upon directly, such as nitrification, denitrification, nitrogen fixation, and mineralization." @cmungall We have biogeochemical cycling in the process branch for carbon (and dispositions like carbon-pooling disposition for ecosystems). This can be elaborated upon

@mpsaloha This is the continuation of some of the themes discussed at NCEAS. Would be great to have your input and requests.

@rlwalls2008 The GO link can be used to bring in PCO to express the ability of populations and communities to store elements.
