@rctauber @lschriml : It would be fantastic if modules for oceans and seas could be released. We'd readily use them in the UNESCO/IOC Ocean Best Practices System: www.oceanbestpractices.org

Planet Microbe, a community marine 'omics cyberinfrastructure system is already making use of other OBO ontologies to integrate data, would absolutely make use of GAZ oceans and seas modules.

Happy to work on this next week. My biggest concern is figuring out how to handle development with overlapping modules, but regardless of that, these modules will be straightforward to create.

Many thanks @rctauber

Out of curiosity, do you think there could be any scope to link GAZ to the Marine Regions Gazetteer it's a pretty extensive resource which has term hierarchies for Large Marine Ecosystems of the World, Longhurst Provinces etc.

@kaiiam could you create an independent issue for your comment ?

This issue can be closed as @rctauber has created the first pass of the module.

@pbuttigieg issue posted. @rctauber feel free to close as the comment is posted in #29.
