Tests currently time out on the github actions, even though they run locally. This branch investigates this. Speed improvements start with:

directly import the copasi thinlayer
only evaluate the models, where the result would not make a difference

oh i see you are committing to this PR ... i thought it would no longer be needed, since most of the commits were just for debugging purposes, but it is up to you

I thought it was safer to try fixes out here :-) Already fixed on the main branch
