Add SMBus support for DIMM temperatures and ASP0800 power information #166

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
HWM should display my DIMM temperatures and ASP0800 power information. To do
this if would need SMBus support.
It also fails to display the disks that are members of RAID sets.
The VBAT value is incorrect.

Implementing a robust SMBus support could be hard, but it is something that
should be done at some point.

For Intel 5 Series and 6 Series chipsets it's possible to read these via the
Chipset Thermal Subsystem [ 0 - 31 - 6 ] device. There are also some other
items you could add. For more info see
http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/datasheet/324645.pdf.
You still need to use SMBus access to support ICH10 and AMD based systems.
