Which Google API and version (e.g. Google Tasks API version 1)?
Youtube analytics API version 1.4

What should the sample demonstrate (e.g. using OAuth2, using a specific
feature of that API)?
using OAuth2 and retrieving channel id and metrics of channel using .net 4.0

Platform (e.g. Windows, Mono, Silverlight, WP7)?
Windows

Be aware that the project is open source, so based on other samples (see you 
samples repository) you can create a new sample easily, and contribue to the 
library.

We have tried creating dot net 4.0 application for retriving youtube analytics 
channel metrics programmatically with the help of other samples. After 
struggling a lot we have stucked to the error shown in attached email.Pls help 
us on the same

It looks like you are working with the old gdata library, and not this google 
api dotnet client library.
Did you try to download the library from - 
https://code.google.com/p/google-api-dotnet-client/wiki/APIs#YouTube_Analytics_A
