Please help me out, and I appologize in advance if this is a dumb question, but what is this IRC channel?
An irc channel is kind of a chat. A huge difference to other chats is, that you only see what is written while you are online. There is no history. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat
ninux and me are using a network called freenode frequently. You can use IRC either via a client software such as xchat, pidgin or mirc or via a web interface. You can try the web interface via the following link: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=##crashc
This IRC channel is intended for quickly asking a question. A student can see instandly if one of the lecturers is online an ask a question. For logging purposes a device with permanent connection to the internet can be used.
Ah, ok, now IRC rings a bell :-) I think we can try it out that way.
Well then, looking forward to see you soon in ##crashc :-)
Sometimes it's good to have a live access to someone from the same course or even a teacher/tutor.
What is your opinion on having an own IRC channel? Lets say something on freenode like
##crashc
? (I already created this channel)Pros
