Okay, I know whatt's going on. Every version of Exchange EWS for Thunderbird I have tried, has a leak where it leaks the entire contents of the GAL all over the Command line if you try to run Thunderbird from the Command Line with the GAL. enabled in EWS. Only about 9 entries actually make it into the Address book. The rest get leaked all over the command line, effectively, the GAL code doesn't work in beta5, beta4, beta3, or version 3.3.2, on Office 365.
All you have to do, is start Thunderbird with an EWS Enabled from the Command Line.
